These precision hand-wound bass strings are NOT simply another
company's strings with yet another different label on the outside.
We have spent a lot of time developing a unique range of strings to cater for any style.

SINGLE-BALL STRINGS :
HotWire round wound strings are available as either hexagonal or premium round core.
half-wound, flat-wound, vintage black nylon or bronze acoustic strings all feature in the range.
All are hand-wound to exacting standards with the finest materials and have
a 'speaking' length of 950mm ( 37 3/8" ) which makes them suitable for
most extra-long 35" scale basses and regular 34" basses with through-body stringing.

DOUBLE-BALL STRINGS :
Round wound, half-wound, flat-wound and vintage black nylon strings are all available.
All are hand-wound and manufactured to the industry standard double ball string length
to suit most headless basses.
They will also work perfectly on all Steinberger and many other headless basses.

As the name suggests, these strings have a round wrap over a hexagonal core. This produces a string with a conventional 'feel'. This is the preferred production method used by many string companies.

PREMIUM ROUND-WOUND
ROUND-CORE STRINGS

These 'Premium Round-Core' strings are produced with both a round wrap and a round core. This design is more difficult to produce but results in a string with a more flexible 'feel' with a clearer tone which will last longer than any standard string.

DOUBLE-BALL STRINGS

Using the "industry standard" double-ball length, these strings are designed to fit onto all basses using regular 34" scale headless tuning systems. This include all Steinberger models.
The strings have a small 'step-down' over the bridge to aid fitting the strings and help improve clarity.

HALF-WOUND STRINGS

This design of string is ideal for use on a fretless bass where you want to retain the clarity of the note but reduce the possibility of marking the fretboard. It starts life as a round-wound string then has the outer wrap ground down slightly to produce a small flat on the outer surface.

FLAT-WOUND STRINGS

'Flats' were instrumental in producing some of the classic bass guitar tones of the 50's and 60's.
These strings will produce a warm fundamental tone with virtually no 'noise' off the fingerboard.

BLACK NYLON STRINGS

We have used these strings on our electro-acoustic basses with the aim of producing a warm, 'string bass' tone. They work equally well with piezo or magnetic pickups.

BRONZE ACOUSTIC STRINGS

Aimed directly at the acoustic bass, these strings have a clear, bell-like quality and an even response either acoustically or via an
on-board piezo pickup.
These strings are not suitable for regular magnetic pickups.
