Status Series-23




We are known world-wide for the use of carbon graphite in our instruments and have been very successful but I have decided it's time for a change and we will not currently be producing or taking orders for any of our previous models.

This is the twenty-third series of basses we have made over the last 40+ years so the obvious name for the new model is

Status Series-23

After many months of development a selection of new basses are available.
We have made a limited production run finished in a selection of our stunning
‘AURORA' chameleon colours.

This 'new' instrument features all the original Status design features :

Classic Status body shape.
Status Board 303 EQ with switchable mid frequencies.
Status custom-wound soap-bar pickups.
Solid brass CNC machined hardware.
Richlite Phenolic fretted fingerboard.

New to the design is a unique graphite reinforced bolt-on maple neck.

Our unique design and construction results in the sonic qualities being virtually the same as our original carbon graphite moulded necks.

Three pieces of hard rock maple are selected and bonded together.
The maple is sliced and glued so that any movement is naturally opposed
which makes it both rigid and stable.

Two graphite rods are set under the phenolic fingerboard either side of the truss-rod.
Each neck is individually fitted to a solid hardwood body which results in a tighter fit for better sustain and sonic response.

Both the neck and body are finished in a smooth, durable satin lacquer.

All basses, pickups and circuits are still designed and made here in our workshop in Colchester, England.

Series-23

This S2-Classic bass features original Status soap-bar pickups and a custom 18 volt EQ which has been fine-tuned to deliver the Classic Status sound.

A master volume works at all times in conjunction with
the pickup blend and treble / bass controls.

The midrange frequency can be pre-set ready to be
switched in at any time via the boost / flat / cut switch.

18 volts are used to power the circuit and ensure plenty of headroom.

All instruments are supplied in a Status LITE FLITE hard case.
